HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Armen Kazanjian, a longtime resident of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Friday, Jan. 27. He was 79.
Kazanjian graduated from Memorial High School, in West New York, where he played football under Coach Joe Coviello and was named to the All-County, All-State and All-Metropolitan football teams.
He was also 50-year Master Mason of Blue Stone Mystic Tie Malta Doric Lodge No. 35, a veteran of the Navy Reserves and a retired sheet metal journeyman.
Kazanjian is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jenia; children Dr. Gregory Kazanjian and his wife Susan, and Jemen Kazanjian; and grandchildren Connor and Cole.
He was preceded by his brother Edward.
A funeral service was held on Monday morning at St. Leon Armenian Church, in Fair Lawn. Interment was in George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus. William G. Basralian Funeral Service, in Oradell, assisted with arrangements.
